Mr. Purcell has invested in financial services companies (public and private markets) for nearly 20 years. He retains a specific specialization in emerging financial innovation as well as non-bank financial services. He has led the sourcing and origination of over $50 million of investments at Continental Investors.

Mr. Purcell currently serves on the Board of Veritec Solutions, Intuition LLC, Align Income Share Funding, What’s Next Media, and Drizly. He is a board observer at LevelUp and CampusLogic. He was formally a Board Member at WePay from the time of Continental’s Series C lead investment through the purchase of WePay by J.P. Morgan Chase.

Prior to joining Continental Investors, Paul co-founded (with his brother David) Continental Advisors, a manager of two sector-based hedge funds. He was also Manager of Internet Marketing at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), a department he helped found. While at CBOE, he held analyst positions in the Trading Operations and Investor Services Divisions.

Mr. Purcell is a member of the Emerging Leaders Council at the University of San Diego. He founded and co-directed the Drive for Breakthroughs, a charity golf outing, which in its six years of existence, raised nearly $2 million for the benefit of the Myelin Repair Foundation (www.myelinrepair.org). Mr. Purcell is active in many areas of medical research, namely Multiple Sclerosis and Child Food Allergy. In 2017, Paul was the annual honoree at the Chicago Dinner of Champions and recognized as Executive of the Year. Both awards were given by the Greater Illinois Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
